Nails For Stephie

Todays post is really special it is a tribute to a member of the nail polish community who passed away a few days ago I did not know Stephie Dauphinais personally but she was a member in a lot of the nail polish groups I am in everyone I know was really shocked saddened when we found out and our thoughts and prayers are with her family.

Members of one of the nail polish groups have decided that we will do a tribute to Stephie by posting manis inspired by some of her favorite things I chose disney for my theme, I haven't done any nail art in months so they aren't perfect but a lot of thought definitely went into this mani.

I will be creating a list of others who are posting nails for stephie on their blogs and pages please check back for links so you can see all the great manis.

Smurfs Mani

Today I have another post for you about Nail Art Water Decals from Born Pretty Store, The Smurfs decals were a little bit trickier to apply than the snoopy decals that I posted about yesterday the decals were slightly thinner and were harder to reposition on the nail and sometimes crinkled up a little so I had to do a couple of my nails twice, I tried to find the smurfiest color in my stash to do this mani and decided that OPI Fly from the Nicki Minaj Collection is the closest color I have to a smurf blue, I hope you love this mani as much as I do!

Snoopy Nails!

I love Snoopy to bits so when Born Pretty contacted me last month asking me to review some of their nail art products I immediately said yes I have been really slack at doing any nail art the last few months so I was really excited to try their Nail Art Water Decals they sent me eleven different designs but my favs were definitely Snoopy and The Smurfs, The decals were really easy too apply just like the temporary tattoos I used to get when I was a kid, I decided to do holo snoopy nails and applied the decals over Make Up Store Greta I really love this mani and don't know if I ever want to remove snoopy he is so cute!

Incoco Nail Polish Applique Pretty Please & Rock On

I have just recently tried out some of the Incoco Nail Polish Applique's, I was really lucky and was sent two sets to review I chose the designs Pretty Please & Rock on, each set includes 16 nail polish strips, a nail file/buffer, orange stick, and polish remover cloths.

The first set I tried was Pretty Please I kept this set on for 3 days while I was working they were great I got lots of good comments from the customers and the strips didn't wear at all I could have left them on for a lot longer.

This afternoon I have just tried out the Rock On strips they are so cool I am really in love with them and can;t wait to wear them to work tomorrow, overall I think the Incoco Applique's are really great product and would definitely use them again I would really like to try out some halloween designs later in the year.

Incoco Nail Polish Applique's cost $10.99 per set which includes 16 double ended strips for 32 assorted sizes, to view more great Incoco designs please click here to visit their website.

Dr Seuss Mani

I'm seriously considering calling my friday posts Dodgy Nail Art Friday as my nail art is so amateur and funny, this weeks challenge was nails inspired by a book, I eventually decided on Dr Seuss The Cat In The Hat thanks to elizabeth for mentioning the idea, even though my nail art is not the best I do like this mani I think its really funny and had a lot of fun doing it.

Sunday Stamping Mani

This weeks stamping challenge was a stamping with a plate that ended in the number seven, the Konad m57 plate is the only stamping plate I own that ends in seven so it was my only choice I have already stamped with two of the designs from this plate so I decided to try out one of the other designs.

I'm not sure what you what you would call this design but I was going for the mermaids tail look that I have seen others do before, I'm not sure it really looks like a mermaids tail but it does look really pretty the stamping is very subtle, the colors I used are Essence Choose Me & Essence Hard To Resist.

Polka Dot Mani

This weeks Friday challenge is polka dots I probably should have taken the easy option and done my polka dot mani with my konad m79 stamping plate but instead I decided to try out my new dotting tools.

I have never done a polka dot mani with dotting tools as you can see in the pics below the dots aren't the same size or in a even line lol! Maybe this can be part of a timeline post in a year or two where I can show pics of what my nail art used to look like and how it has improved with time, hopefully my nail art will improve eventually but I can still have fun trying!

Under The Sea Mani

The theme for the Sunday Stamping challenge this week was Under The Sea unfortunately I do not have any stamping plates with sea creature images so I had to improvise.

The base color of this mani is Sephora by OPI Midnight Mambo stamped with Essence Hard To Resist using the Konad M63 stamping plate, I used OPI Did it on em and some black and white nail art colors to paint the octopus, I think he is really sweet please don't laugh at him!

Friday Challenge: Nails inspired by your favorite piece of jewellery

This week's Friday Challenge was nails inspired by your favorite piece of jewellery, thanks so much Joy this was a really cool idea for a challenge, my favorite piece of jewellery is my engagement ring which I had made at a jewellers in Brisbane in 2004 I love this ring it will always be my favorite piece of jewellery.

I used OPI DS sapphire and some some rhinestones to create this mani I took awhile to stick all the rhinestones on with Seche Vite and I really need some better tweezers but overall I am really happy with this mani.

Sorry I had to use a bottles of Finger Paints Twisted in these pics as It was the only bottle my ring would fit around the bottle lid, what is your favorite piece of jewellery, would you ever do a mani inspired by it?
